Co-operative Film Festival 2013 logo

Young people have until Friday 31 May to get their entries in to The Co-operative’s annual film festival and be in with the chance of seeing their film premiere on the big screen!

This year’s festival will be held in partnership with Bradford’s award-winning National Media Museum from Wednesday 17 to Friday 19 July. The festival is free and open to all young people aged 22 or under.

Entries to the festival, which should be no more than six minutes long, will be viewed and selected by a panel of film and media professionals. There are no categories to limit the imagination and film-makers are encouraged to tackle issues that interest them through drama or documentary, animation or comedy, music video or silent movie.

Not only will film-makers get to see their work on-screen, they will also have the opportunity to participate in and learn about exciting film techniques and receive feedback on their film.

Whether entering with a school or college, a film club or drama group, or just with a group of friends, the festival is a celebration of young people’s creative talents.

It would be great to see some students from co-operative schools and Young Co-operatives taking part. For more details on how to enter see attached flier and call for entries, visit, 'like' the Facebook page at or follow the festival on Twitter @coopfilmfest.
