Young Co-operative wins Swale Youth Excellence Award

Members of Fulston Manor's Young Co-operative are presented with the Swale Youth Excellence Award by the mayor and mayoress of Swale

Members of a Young Co-operative at Fulston Manor School in Sittingbourne, Kent, were delighted to receive a visit from the Mayor of Swale, Councillor Ben Stokes and Mayoress Councillor Sylvia Bennett, who presented four students with The Swale Youth Excellence Award.

Katie Blackmore, Ryan Temple, Billy Brandon and Haydn Curtis won the award for all the hard work and volunteering they have participated in since they joined the Young Co-operatives group in January 2010.

Mayor Stokes said that he was proud of their achievements and that it was wonderful to hear about young people working tirelessly for the good of others within the community.

Mrs Sarah Palmer, Community Cohesion Manager, said: “All four students have been part of our group since the start and have given up free time to raise funds for charity and raise awareness of serious issues in Swale. I could not be more proud of these students if I tried. They are a credit to the school, their parents and the community.”
