Fair Trade festive cheer at Fulston Manor School

Christmas at Fulston Manor

Young Co-operators brought Christmas cheer to Fulston Manor School in Sittingbourne, Kent, on Tuesday 14 December.

Students from the Young Co-operatives group made Fairtrade goodies such as cheese straws, chocolate brownies, peppermint creams and Rice Crispie cakes. These were sold at lunchtime to fellow students and staff and the funds raised will be put into their charity account and donated to a worthy cause in the New Year.

Mrs Fitzjohn, a member of Fulston support staff said: “This was an excellent event which was well organised. The students all worked really hard using Fairtrade ingredients. I have enjoyed supporting the group.”

Mrs Palmer, Community Cohesion Manager, agreed: “These students make me so proud. Our only problem was not enough stock. The food was delicious and sold out very quickly – next time we will be more prepared.”
