The Co-operative British Youth Film Academy

British Youth Film Academy logo

The Co-operative British Youth Film Academy is the UK’s only co-operatively-run film academy, offering summer camps as well as year-round educational opportunities.

BYFA Summer Camps are focused on the production of a full-length feature film, and young people are given the opportunity to work with professional film-makers on a real film set – activities include camera, grip, lighting, sound, music, art, acting, production and post production. They are given the opportunity to gain the skills, confidence and hands-on experience to develop, both as people and as film-makers.

BYFA is open to young people aged 14-25 regardless of background, contacts or experience. In addition to the Summer Camp, BYFA can also deliver bespoke workshops for schools and colleges, mini film festivals and film screening events.
